On 03/30/24 at approximately 2300 hours, Wagoner County Deputies R. Lawrence, Deputy C. Andrews, and Deputy J. Pearson were at QuickTrip in Coweta discussing a case.

Deputy Andrews proceeded inside the store and as he did, he observed an individual lying on the floor that had collapsed and was having trouble breathing. Deputy Andrews advised dispatch of the situation and requested Coweta EMS as deputies Pearson and Lawrence proceeded inside to assist.

Deputies determined that the individual was suffering from a narcotic overdose. Deputy Lawrence retrieved Narcan from his patrol unit and administered Narcan to the victim. Coweta Police Officer’s D. Wilkison and L. Sturtevant arrived a short time later to assist deputies.

It was discovered that the victim had just purchased narcotics that were suspected to have been laced with Fentanyl. After Deputies and Coweta EMS administered multiple doses of Narcan, the individual recovered. The victim was transported to a local Tulsa area hospital by Coweta EMS.
