Wagoner County Detention Center receives infraction free report from State of Oklahoma

On 02-22-2024, Wagoner County Detention Center was visited for its annual inspection by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. During this time, the facility is evaluated for detention practices and training, cleanliness, detention operations, and compliance with state standards.

Wagoner County Detention Center was given high remarks and graded substantially in compliance. The facility received a perfect infraction free report. Only handful of facilities throughout the state receive a perfect inspection report. 

On 02-29-2024 Wagoner County Deputies and Detention Officers conducted an illegal contraband search in the Wagoner County Detention Center.  Sheriff Elliott was in attendance and assisted with the search.  Sheriff Elliott has continued to make certain that the Wagoner County Detention Center is free of any illegal contraband to create a safe Detention Center environment for the Staff and incarcerated individuals.

The State of Oklahoma Jail Inspectors commended Wagoner County Detention Center staff members.  The Jail Inspectors observed Detention Center staff “have positive interactions between inmates and staff members” and “Detention Center staff demonstrated proficiency in Oklahoma Jail Standards and Policy and Procedure.”
