Jail Administrator – Major Ryan Russell

Major Ryan Russell was hired in February of 2020 as a detention officer. He was later promoted to the kitchen supervisor role for the detention center. Serving in the role for nearly one-year, Ryan Russell was then promoted to Jail Administrator for Wagoner County at the age of 22. He has since served in that role and has been dedicated to the advancement of the detention center. Major Ryan Russell was awarded the Oklahoma Sheriff Jail Administrator of the year 2022. He continues to make strides in excellence in leadership and corrections practices.

Accomplishments:

• 2022 Jail Administrator of the year
• 2022 Sheriffs Office Employee of the year
• 2024 Health Department infraction-free jail inspection

Major Ryan Russell is a current student at Northeastern State University majoring in Human Resource Management. He completed he Federal Bureau of Investigations LEEDA Internal Affairs Investigations, and Ryan Russell is also a certified instructor in Correctional Emergency Response Teams.
